first day of school 2011

almost exactly one year ago today, i posted pictures of the first day of school for my boys.

well, that time is here again.  i thought it would be fun to see the differences.

first one out the door was tiny t.  here is what he looked like last year.

ready to take on the world!

longer hair, still tan from the summer.......

and here is the bull.  absolutely no interest in taking pictures before going off the 7th grade.

wearing a tshirt with a "funny" saying.....

and finally, smiling, because his mother forced him to....

and here is big a, even less inclined to take a pic on the first day of school.  still with his tired eyes...

not wanting to smile because he still had his braces on.  9th graders are funny that way...

and here is tiny t this year, today, entering into the 4th grade:

he was pretty excited to be in 4th grade and have a new teacher.  he shot out of bed and did everything himself, including picking out his clothes and packing his backpack.  now, this could be because it was the first day of school and everything is new and fun.  i like to think it is because he is maturing, becoming a responsible young man.

oh boy, i am probably wrong........

and here is the bull.  much more smiley this year, being in 8th grade and being the big man on campus.

oh no, back to the solemn look.  i guess he is getting ready for football........

here is big a, more excited this morning to take a picture.   oh don't get me wrong, he complained.......

but he definitely is smiling this year!  he got his braces taken off in july.  just in time for his sophomore year...

much more mature this year.  guess that's because he is almost 16.   wow, does time fly..........

i love looking at these comparisons from last year to this year.  they are so different, not just the way they look, but also the way they act.  it is amazing.  and i love them.......

disclaimer:  none of the boys knew what the other was wearing the first day of school, they all leave at different times and don't see each other.  so the fact that two years in a row, they all three wore the same color shirts, is beyond me.  genetics, i guess........
